About Us

In the 7th century Scandinavian time of the Vikings, the most valued possession symbolizing status, honor and social hierarchy was the Sword referred to as Nifsblad. The double-sided elaborate steel trophy was crafted through a core of braided metal strips bonded and forged together through fire and ice to create strength, durability and extreme sharpness. Each completed sword represented a balance of the elements - wood from the earth, ice from Scandinavian waters, fire from the coals of forging and air form the sky to test the flow of blade resistance.

This one-of-a-kind kindred blade, was not only an extension of the person but its wielding and use helped create the depth of the warrior's essence. It was believed that the sword and the individual who possessed it would become bonded like the braids of steel in the blade.

Today, Knifesblade produces each one-of-a-kind blade using the same earthly elements formulated over 1500 years ago. Each made to order knife is forged of 67 layers of interwoven steel strengthened with our process of fire and ice, calling the Scandinavian waters and Nordic flames stoked in the 7th century. Our handles use a combination of earths wood and linen bonded for power and stability like the mighty ships built to withstand the Nordic seas. The finishing of your heirloom blade is hand sharpened, honed and polished in the ways of old to be an extension of you.

Knifesblade is a knife to be used, cherished and displayed.

Our lifetime guarantee ensures that this heirloom can be handed down from generation to generation bonded with the lifeline of your family.
